Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York and is an American actor. She is a well-known actress throughout the world, and particularly in America. Sedgwick began to be interested in the artistic arts, Broadway, and acting at the age of 12 of age. Her mother was very interested in Broadway, and she introduced it to her. When she was of 16 Sedgwick was offered her first acting job professionally on the show "Another World". Sedgwick went on to play small time roles in the TV, but it was the idea of making it big as an actress that attracted her. First, her support role in the Tom Cruise-starring movie Born on the Fourth of July made her a star on the big screen. Sedgwick received more movie roles after the success of this film, such as: "Singles", "Heart and Souls", and "Phenomenon". When she was just 22 year old, she was married the actor Kevin Bacon after working in the television series Lemon Sky. Sedgwick became a household name in American television thanks to her impressive performance in "The Closer", a seven-season TV series which won her the Golden Globe Award and Emmy.
